Bonjour! Wow, this place is cool! Cool is an understatement though. They call Brussels "Little Europe", because Brussels is a very popular and well-known city, but it's actually very small in size. I haven't even been using the Metro or subway system at all, but rather walking everywhere. For all the Belgium treats I've been eating, I better be getting some exercise! Today I had a Belgian waffle and I'm not sure how to begin describing it. It was like a waffle that tasted like toasted marshmallow and butter in waffle form. Oh, and to make it better, they stuffed chocolate sticks into it. If heaven was a taste, this was it! Also, I bought four Belgian chocolate truffles from the cutest little chocolate store. They're strong and a bit bitter, but absolutely delicious. I wish I could bring some back home for everyone to try, but I only have my little bag. Coffee is also very strong. When I put my order in, it came out in the smallest, little glass, but I understood quickly why it was so small; it was super duper strong! One cup was plenty :) while sitting there for an hour, I people-watched out the window for an hour and listened to all the wonderful, French accents, not caring that I didn't know what they were saying. On a side note: If you like French fries, come to Belgium.
Last night was a different experience though. My flatmate/roommate had to meet a friend for work in the city and invited me along. We met at this little pub called, Crazy Circle and there happened to be an event going on; Burlesque meets Comedy. It was quite the show and I didn't understand a word, but I still laughed a ton. Next, we played pool for awhile. Belgium beer is also stronger, like the coffee, but has great flavor, and since it is apart of the culture, I had to try it! Also, today, I saw the third most famous statue, "Manneken Pis", which translates to "Little Man Pee" in Dutch. It's a tiny statue that is as big as my forearm that is a statue that pees fountain water. And to make it even weirder, there is a team of people whose jobs are to solely decorate, dress, and overall care for the statue. He has over 900 outfits; seriously how weird?! You can look up the history of that one if you want.t All in all, this city is charming, full of history, and overflowing with many different cultures and nationalities.

As always, stay adventurous,
Au Revoir,
Laura
